The Federal Government has officially declared Today, Tuesday, July 15, a public holiday to honour the memory and legacy of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who passed away on Sunday in London at the age of 83.
The announcement was made on Monday evening by the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, during a press briefing at the ministry headquarters in Abuja.
According to the minister, the public holiday will serve as a national day of remembrance for the late statesman who served as Nigeria’s Head of State from 1983 to 1985 and later as a democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023.
