Akeweje Olayinka Fafoluyi, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, is set to support 700 older people and widows in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement released to journalists in Ilorin, the state capital, earlier today, Akeweje said the aid would be given to up to 700 older people and widows across Irepodun, adding that the cash support is meant to appreciate their backing for the administration of his father and principal, Governor AbdulRazaq.

“The cash support is designed for 700 older people and widows across Irepodun Local Government Area. It is a way of appreciating them for their unwavering support for the administration of my father, principal and benefactor, His Excellency Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq,” Akeweje noted.

Akeweje also noted that he got the inspiration of the cash support for older people from Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP), an initiative of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, focused on poverty alleviation and economic empowerment through different programs.

When asked when he would commence the distribution of the cash support to beneficiaries, Akeweje said he is currently collating their names and that the distribution will begin soon and conclude by December.

“The names of the beneficiaries are currently being gathered as part of the process. After that, the cash distribution for the 700 older people will commence. By God’s grace, the disbursement will be concluded between August and December,” he added.

Akeweje further said amid the cash distribution, a socio-political group named AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Legacy Advocates (AALA) inaugurated.
